Jarik

aJA seRIK

rela diJAjah asal menaRIK
Seluruh badan dari kaki sampai kepala rela dipakaikan sandal jinjit, jarik,  corset, kebaya dan sanggul.
Asal akhirnya bisa tampil cantik dan anggun.

JAdilah putRI Kartini
Inilah yang biasa didengungkan di hari yang bertanggal 21 April.
Meneladani pahlawan emansipasi wanita Indonesia.
Entah cuma soal pakaiannya  ataupun sampai ke ideologinya.
Sekali lagi, selamat hari Kartini !

What’s in a name ?

What’s in a name ?

That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet

What’s in a name ?

A lady  which named “Di” by any other name would smile as sweet

What’s in a name ?

A lady  which named “Boy” by any other name would smile as sweet ?

What’s in a name ?

A lady  which named “Boy” in Thailand by any other name would smile sweeter and more perfect  ?

What’s in a name ?

A lady  which named “Boy” in Thailand by any other name would look more perfect  and more gorgeous ?

So, what’s in a name ?

If she’s more beautiful than a lady, she must be  a ladyboy !

One Moment In Time

scariestquote

The quote above coincidentally comes from Stephen King who is famous with contemporary horror, suspense, science fiction and fantasy. But indirectly we experienced it consciously or not.

From my childhood when I started to go to school. The first day at class with new friends whose still strangers for me. Until my mother guarded me. Then when I learnt to ride a bike and I had to fall over and over.

It still continued until I became adult and tried to find a job. I was still afraid of the job, whether I could handle it or not. Then when I choose to live independent and bought a house. I was afraid with the new environment, new neighbours and the house itself. Whether I could feel comfortable like at home or not.

And at last when I have a plan to open a business of my own, I’m afraid whether the business can going well and develop or not.

Not to  mention  my identity itself which is can called as third gender. When I opened facebook account, at the beginning I hesitated and afraid with my identity.

It’s in contrary with my hobby blogging, at the beginning I just do it with fad and not seriously. Even I didn’t suspect that my blog can  be crowded with visitors. Although I did all my postings whether it’s an article, photos or videos with seriously.

Fortunately, I faced that scariest moments one by one. One moment in time. And so my life  journal still continues.

More Than Words

wordprint

Famous literary works have words that have been memorized by their readers. Just like a poem or lyrics from a song.

For an example, this quote.  “What’s in a name? that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”  That is quoted from Romeo and Juliet that’s written by William Shakespeare.

Or this quote. “Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They came through you but not from you and though they are with you yet they belong not to you.” That is quoted from The prophet that’s written by Kahlil Gibran.

Those words are always remembered and may live eternally. Once they are printed, have a life of their own.

So what about my articles that already published in my blog ? I should be ashamed of myself if I compare these against those popular literary works. But if just only because of that I should stop writing and publishing my articles through my blog, I can’t do it either. Whatever happens, I should keep on writing and publishing my articles as long I still love blogging.

Act Naturally

bestyle

This video above with the song “Act Naturally” tells us to act naturally and no need rehearsing if we want to be a big star. Although we don’t know if it’s true or just a joke. In reality, we often heard that saying. It’s said born with a talent like that. We know the twin girls Mary and Kate Olsen who began their career when they were kids.

But whether this also applies  in blogging or writing ? I don’t know.  Maybe this case applies in blogging, because blogger can come from various professions.

About the quote above that said the best style is the style you don’t notice. Maybe it means because it’s our nature so we don’t notice it.

Love Letters

proofreadquote

At first I didn’t know the meaning of proofread. But after I ran proofread writing that provided by WordPress, then I knew the meaning of proofread. It’s like correction to our words spelling that we already typed. Even so, after I know the meaning of proofread, I just run the proofread writing facility that provided by WordPress sometimes. Actually I read my articles repeatedly before I publish it. I usually preview it when I read it. I don’t know which one is better, run proofread writing that already provided or read it in preview.

The weakness if we read our article in preview mode is we can’t check our words spelling, but we can see how the article should look especially if our article is accompanied with photos or videos. But although we run proofread writing, the mistakes that we made  may also passed  especially if the wrong word is also a word that also has a meaning.

Beside that, I think the proofread writing facility that provided by WordPress can’t handle an article that typed in Bahasa Indonesia. In this case, that is my native language. Although I have changed my general settings on language into Bahasa Indonesia. But after I run proofread writing , still almost all of the words that typed in Bahasa Indonesia are underlined by red lines.

I have a funny story maybe about my habit  reading my article repeatedly before I publish it.  Although I read it over and over, sometimes I still passed a mistake or two. Thus, our articles look like love letters that we read them repeatedly before we publish them. Only the difference is our article is our love to blogging and the real love letter is our love to someone who is so special to us.

I Can’t Stand It. Paperwork or paperless ?

252post

I don’t know if the quote above is still relevant or not, because nowadays we are in computer age. And almost everything now has tendency to become paperless.

Writers now maybe don’t have paperwork, except  files that stored in electronic media like flashdisk  and harddisk. Those files don’t need a large place to be stored. In other words, it’s more practical. Our office doesn’t need to look crowded anymore by papers. We don’t need a larger place to work, but a smaller place should be enough when we use computer instead of typewriter.

Because when we make a mistake, we can press delete or backspace button to erase the wrong character that we already type. And more important thing is we don’t need papers to be typed. Papers that we need to store when we finished typing. As the replacement, we store our writing in flashdisk or harddisk. And the capacity of that media is millions times more bigger than papers.

Computer nowadays  is already well known by everyone from kids until elderly.  Except maybe for some people who lives in isolated areas, underdeveloped and untouched by technology. Computer now is not a difficult thing to be learned. When we schooled, we already be taught computer lesson since in  kindergarten.
